As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as the maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) supervisor for the Machine & Paint Team.

Duties

This position resides within a functional MRO Group at the FAA Logistics Center. The incumbent oversees key aspects of the group's fabrication and rework activities required to accomplish the core supply chain mission of the organization. This includes critical resource allocation decisions for parts, adjusting work assignments and/or staffing levels based on mission needs and budgetary limitations, and providing expert guidance to the MRO Group and other functional groups on matters relating to their assigned product portfolio. The MRO Team supervisor is directly accountable to the manager of the functional MRO Group.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J (FG/GS-14/15) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower level, FV-I (FG/GS-13). Specialized experienceis experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Specialized Experience: includes experience with machining, welding, sheet metal, corrosion control, and/or chemical stripping; experience managing budget and reallocating resources as needed; tracking labor and material costs; Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul functions such as engineering, design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, maintenance, and fabrication for a variety of system applications.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
