The incumbent serves as a Branch Manager in the Contracts and Program Administration Branch, AMA-260 within the FAA Academy.

Duties

Provides overall administration and technical direction of all branch activities providing Outside Agency Training (OAT) for the following FAA Offices: Flight Standards Service (FS); Aviation Systems Standards and Aircraft Certification Service (AIR); as well as customers from the Department of Defense; domestic/international aviation businesses and organizations. In additional provides oversight and direction to the Information Technical (IT) and simulator maintenance staff. Integrates work of multiple organizations to meet strategic goals of the organization and the FAA, participates in strategic planning for the FAA, and makes commitments (program, budget, etc) for a major organization.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • A one-year managerial probationary period may be required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for the FV-K (FG-15) you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J (FG-14) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Specialized Experience includes: Experience coordinating training policies, standards, and procedures pertaining to programs and projects; experience planning and organizing budgets, staff, and resources to accomplish training objectives; experience integrating principles of management and strategic planning into multiple organizations; experience leading groups and teams in support of continuous improvement.ANDIn addition to the minimum qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Quality Ranking Factor for this position.Quality Ranking Factor (QRF): Well-qualified candidates for this position will possess experience in all of the following areas: Execution/administration of contracts for delivery of training services; Risk management; Overseeing the design, development, modification and evaluation of adult learning systems.Applicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their work history.
