As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.Serves as the maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) supervisor for a major product portfolio of the National Airspace System.

Duties

This position resides within a functional MRO Group at the FAA Logistics Center. The incumbent oversees key aspects of the group's electronics repair activities required to accomplish the core supply chain mission of the organization. This includes critical resource allocation decisions for parts, adjusting work assignments and/or staffing levels based on mission needs and budgetary limitations, and providing expert guidance to the MRO Group and other functional groups on matters relating to their assigned product portfolio. The MRO Team supervisor is directly accountable to the manager of the functional MRO Group.

  • Successful completion of security investigation may be required.
  • A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized Experience includes: experience with supply chain management, supply support, and financial management functions; experience repairing complex electronic assemblies in a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment to include leading initiatives to improve repair and/or testing procedures for systems assigned; experience integrating program goals, priorities, and values; communicate effectively to targeted audiences; experience in engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment; ensuring that fabrication, testing, repair and modification services are provided in support of the National Airspace System (NAS) systems and subsystems; applying a comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, a detailed knowledge of budget, human resource, and other administrative policies and procedures, and a detailed understanding of the objectives of the organizational unit.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
