Serves as the team lead and principal technical specialist for electronic practices and procedures within the Communication Equipment Support Team.

Duties

As the Electronics Technician (Team Lead), performs work of broad scope and complexity on National Airspace Systems (NAS). Applies broad experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of complex electronic techniques, theories, and characteristics to lead others and perform assigned work. Is considered an electronics technical expert within the organization applying an understanding of new technologies and methods to provide the highest organizational level technical support to NAS customers.

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Pre-employment Physical may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-I (FG/GS 13) level, applicants must have one year of Specialized Experience equivalent to the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level. Specialized experienceis experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.Specialized Experience includes experience trouble shooting, modifying, and repairing electrical and electronic equipment, these component level repairs are completed with the use of the technical instruction manuals, blueprints, OEM system drawings and the knowledge of electronic and electrical theory by using various types of basic and complex electronics test equipment. That equipment includes but is not limited to multi-meters, power meters, watt meters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.ANDQuality Ranking Factor (QRF): Well qualified candidates will demonstrate knowledge of electronics/electrical systems, technical principles and standards through experience with Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) repairs of NAS equipment within their resume.ANDPre-employment Physical Requirement: You must be able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others. Selectee must pass a pre-employment physical prior to appointment.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history.
