About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Financial Readiness Manager with full authority to plan, organize, direct,staff, carry out, review, and evaluate the overall operation of the Garrison Financial Readiness Programs at a large or medium garrison
Duties
Direct activities for financial programs such as Financial Readiness and Financial Emergency Relief programs.
Authorize changes to a financial readiness program to ensure the most up to date resources are available for customers while continuing to meet prescribed requirements and regulations.
Execute financial readiness based upon current certification standards.
Identify developmental training needs of financial readiness team to enhance productivity and maintain required certifications.
Plan workload of subordinates to ensure organizational priorities are achieved
Support a diversified workforce of team members from varying entities such as government and contractors.
Publicize financial readiness programs addressing matters such as financial risk reduction
Conduct financial literacy events that focus on awareness and education of financial stability
Assess progress of financial plans to determine whether economic objectives are being met.
Develop procedures to provide for continuing financial planning
Establish long-range program plans to meet the needs of the community.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be required to lift and/or carry up to 25lbs.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
- This position may require Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) up to 10%. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
- The duties of the job require the incumbent to exercise judgment/ recommending Government decisions which have an economic impact on the interest of nonfederal enterprises as defined in Section II, AR 600-50.
- Obtain and maintain a relevant nationally recognized professional certification that prepares the individual to provide factual, unbiased financial education and counseling, pursuant to implementing guidance issued by the Secretary of the Army.
- Certification must be the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP). I
- Incumbent must apply to and enroll in the certification program within 6 months of onboarding. Must complete certification within 1 year of the date of enrollment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Resolving complex personal financial readiness problems for single or multi person households, 2.) Developing long range plans to assist clients with the elimination of debt, 3.) Determining if personal financial client problems fall within guidelines for emergency assistance by government or private organizations, 4). Overseeing general personnel management policy matters and other personnel actions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
