About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Detrick, MD.
Duties
Establish standard operating procedures and performance metrics to manage Common Levels of Support in accordance with Army Baseline Services (ABS) and related Service Support Programs in select logistics ABS.
Directly supervise work center staff for plans and operations, resource management, administration, information technology, and ammunition supply and is performance rater for employees under direct supervision.
Perform overall planning for the Logistics Readiness Center by analyzing mission assignments, establishing program objectives and developing current and long-range plans for accomplishment of assigned functions to include contingency planning.
Analyze the division short- and long-range strategic logistics planning objectives and goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- Travel, approximately 10% of the position incumbent’s time to temporary duty locations by various means including commercial and government aircraft, and motor vehicles may be required. Overseas travel may be necessary.
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The employee may be required to work overtime.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
- Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 23 March 2006.

Specialized Experience required for GS-12: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: Providing technical guidance regarding logistics management policies and procedures; conducting analysis of logistics programs or operations; reviewing standard operating procedures or Command directives in order to recommend changes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-GS-11).
