This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serves as the Logistics Support Officer, executing day-to-day operations of Logistics Assistance Program (LAP) activities.
Duties
Directs the operational missions planning, execution and sustainment involving use of LAP personnel, maintenance assets, and resources globally.
Conducts evaluation of resource utilization, providing input/recommendations for proper substitutions and alterations
Works with the LAP Director to develop goals and objectives that integrate organizational and US Army Materiel Command (AMC) strategic objectives.
Acts as the LAP Director in their absence, with full authority over all operations activities other than those requiring a military authority (UCMJ actions, military leave requests, etc.).
Provides LAP personnel support (based on equipment density, skill sets and locations) as coordinated with the AFSBs/AFSBns approved concept of support plan.
Serves as an expert in the maintenance management and sustainment support operations for Command LAP personnel directly supporting fielded medical devices, to include test and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet the position requirements for certification at Level III in Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, you may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- The employee must maintain a valid "No Fee" (Official) Passport and a valid Tourist Passport at all times at the agency’s expense.
- The employee will maintain a government provided telephonic means of communication for which LAP E-E/MM personnel will be required to answer during duty and non-duty periods and respond to requests for information and assistance.
- The employee must maintain a Government Travel Credit Card (GOV CC) IAW applicable rules and regulations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing a medical logistics program development, planning, and execution. 2) Providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on complex medical logistics procedures. and 3) Evaluating logistic inspection reports/deficiencies and recommending corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
