This vacancy is for PROGRAM ANALYST position in the Customer Liaison and Marketing Services Office located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
Duties
Develops and presents workshops, webinars, and field trips to support the dissemination of educational resources from the Statistics in Schools (SIS) program.
Conducts, program planning, coordination, and implementation of outreach efforts to the educational community (schools, teachers, administrators, etc.) to increase the statistical and civic literacy of students through the awareness and use of SIS.
Initiates and maintains relationships with national education partners.
Develops a comprehensive plan to inform and train teachers (new teachers as well as professional development for current teachers) in using census data and resources from Statistics in Schools.
Research census data and works with Census Bureau subject matter experts to update current SIS resources.
Creates new classroom materials using census data to reflect current standards and practices used in today’s classroom.
Present SIS resources to students in a variety of settings including classroom visits, field trips, after school programs and data camps.

Specialized Experience for the GS-09, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal services. Experience for this position includes, working with students in group settings; presenting or co-presenting educational resources to students; having knowledge of practices used in today's classroom; assisted in developing educational content for use in the classroom; and assisting in presenting to a variety of audiences including teachers.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Specialized Experience for the GS-11 you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal services. Experience for this position includes, creating materials for the classroom using current standards (including Common Core Standards); working in an educational environment with schools or teachers; having a basic knowledge of standards and practices used in today's classroom; presenting a variety of educational materials to students in multiple grades; and communicating educational content to various groups including teachers and parents.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related.
Specialized Experience for the GS-12, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal services. Experience for this position includes, developing and reviewing classroom materials using appropriate education standards (including Common Core Standards); working directly with leaders in the educational community including schools, teachers, and administrators; developing a variety of educational content across multiple subjects for the classroom; having a strong understanding of tools and practices used in the current classroom environment; demonstrating outstanding presentation skills to a variety of audiences including students and teachers; revising and presenting higher level content to a younger audience; and the ability to communicate educational content in writing and verbally to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
