This position serves as the principal administrative and clerical support person for the Radiology Service. This position is aligned under the Service Chief, Imaging Service (Radiology Service), and Assistant Service Chief (Radiology Service). The principal duties are to provide administrative assistance to the Chief, Assistant Chief, Administrative Officer, and multi-level clinical Supervisors, and other staff within all levels of management in the service.
Duties
Duties include:
Utilizes office automation equipment to prepare correspondence, documents and reports.
Receives calls, greets visitors, patients and family members and communicates and treats customers in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner.
Perform research functions, extracts various information, summarizes, and compile required information.
Utilize variety of software applications to support/track workload and personnel of organization.
Transcribe reports and maintain a continual accumulation of all types of data for use for preparation of a variety of reports.
Utilize graphics software to provide charts, graphs or paper presentations for briefings.
Assists in preparing procurement and emergency equipment requests.
Prepares and processes minutes for staff and special meetings.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/29/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06.The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Specialized Experience for GS6:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. :Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Providing administrative support being first point of contact and routing information
Utilizing electronic systems such as Microsoft Word, VISTA, Excel Spreadsheets
Gather, review, input, update, access, organize, process, and to maintain information for a variety of reports and meetings.
Creating charts, graphs, and analyze data for completeness and accuracy.
Coordinating and scheduling appointments.
Specialized Experience for GS7:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. :Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Utilizing electronic systems to gather, review, input, update, access, organize, process, and to maintain information for a variety of reports and meetings.
