The Office of Research & Development (ORD) of the VA Shreveport Health Care System is an active research department with projects sponsored by the VA, National Institutes of Health, pharmaceutical companies, and private or non-profit research foundations. This position is in the Office of the Associate Chief of Staff, Research and Development (ACOS/R&D).
Duties
Develop Access, Excel, and other database/spreadsheet software to create and maintain databases to track and monitor data and other administrative functions.
Perform quality improvement checks to monitor trends and problem areas in data management and security.
Research and analyze issues surrounding data management and analysis for Research Service.
Train others on use information systems and/or system upgrades and improvements and create user instructions/cheat sheets.
Process and thoroughly review sponsored projects to ensure compliance with departmental and institutional procedures and policies.
Design, maintain, and update informational Research Service SharePoint/Web pages.
This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/23/2024.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience utilizing automated office equipment, computer, and software programs to execute administrative and clerical duties in support of a clinical research program; experience using Institutional Review Board (IRB) procedures and practices to complete assignments; assisting with gathering information to develop databases and reports.

Education
