The incumbent serves as a Management and Financial Analyst within the Finance and Services Branch, AMA-021.

Duties

The incumbent performs varying and complex financial and analytical duties in the conduct of budget formulation, execution, and presentation based on comprehensive understanding of the Academy's diverse programs and resources. The incumbent will be tasked with providing leadership, guidance, and/or expertise in the areas of financial management applying in-depth knowledge of federal regulation and agency guidance. Reviews and interprets financial data from numerous systems and sources, develops and reviews financial statements relevant to the success of the FAA Academy programs. Gathers budget and financial statistical data and/or creates reports and participates in analysis utilized in the preparation and issuance of managerial responses to bargaining unit actions.

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (GS/FG-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: experience working with Franchise funds, Reimbursable funds, Operations funds and Facilities & Equipment funds; experience performing revenue, cost of goods or services sold, expense analysis, financial results analysis, budgetary analysis, and business planning; experience analyzing data to be used for reports, program planning, and briefings concerning expenditures, operating budgets and financial tracking systems.In addition to the above, the following has been determined to be a Quality Ranking Factor (QRF). Applicants who possess this factor will be considered Well-Qualified.QUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): A well-qualified applicant will have knowledge of the Federal Appropriation Law and Revenue/Expense Recognition.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their work history. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
