Duties
You will assist with security training and position sensitivity classification.
You will receive requests for security clearances and apply appropriate DoD regulations regarding the type of Personnel Security Investigation required.
You will prepare necessary reports, investigative packets and maintain personnel security clearance records.
You will implement command security procedures for the protection of classified and sensitive unclassified information.
You will evaluate effectiveness of the existing Physical Security posture in support of agency mission, goals, and objectives.
You will recommend the type of security measures, control requirements, procedures, and facilities needed.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Must obtain Security Professional Education Development (SPED) as a Security Fundamentals Professional certification (SFPC) or Physical Security Certification (PSC). Failure to obtain SFPC or PSC within 1 year may result in removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Implementing security procedures for the protection of classified and sensitive unclassified information for an organization or assigned program; 2) Interpreting and applying agency guidelines, regulations, and policies; 3) Applying in-depth working knowledge of a variety of standard and state-of-the-art security equipment, systems, and devices to recommend appropriate protective methods and security procedures; and 4) Conducting physical security surveys and vulnerability assessments to identify deficiencies within the program.

Education
The following education may be substituted for the specialized experience listed above:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position.
OR
Successful completion of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
