You will serve as a Senior Security Specialist in the Corporate Operations Group (Code 7.0), Security Dept. (Code 7.4) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will accomplish other duties as assigned. You will be responsible for the Security Education and Training Awareness, develop and present security briefings or training relative to established procedures as necessary. You will assist the Security Officer in Administering FRCSW's personnel security program to make security clearance determinations, initiates requests for security clearances, evaluates the sensitivity classification of positions. You will evaluate the effectiveness of the existing Physical Security posture. You will supervise the Electronic Key Material Systems (EKMS) account and prepare all necessary reports and audits for signature. You will be responsible for the protection of all classified material held by the command. You will develop and manage the Continuity of Operations Program (COOP) program. You will be responsible for the Operations Security program and plan.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You must obtain and maintain required certification and/or license as condition of employment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying security concepts, principles and practices to administer a security program and resolve security issues. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) Applying working knowledge of information, personnel, operations, and industrial security methods, principles, and practices to an organization; (2) Implementing agency security procedures for the protection of classified and sensitive unclassified information; (3) Interpreting and applying Dept. of Defense (DoD) and Dept. of Navy (DoN) guidelines, regulations, and policies in support of assigned security programs; (4) Applying working knowledge of a variety of standard and state-of-the-art security equipment, systems, and devices to recommend appropriate protective methods and security procedures; (5) Conducting physical security surveys and vulnerability assessments to identify deficiencies within assigned program(s); (6) Providing security education training awareness to agency personnel as well as developing and presenting security briefings or training relative to established agency procedures; and (7) Interfacing with internal and external contacts to provide technology protection for an established air weapons system and/or aviation program.
