About the Position: Serves as the administrative advisor and support to the JBLM Directorate of Human Resources Director all all matters pertaining to organizational program planning, management, resourcing, and oversight.

Duties

Acts as point of contact for Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) updates, management studies, and manpower surveys. Establishes and maintains program for directorate budgetary planning and oversight. Tracks budget performance histories and develops measures to evaluate organizational operations. Assesses budgetary impact of long-range plans, objectives and decisions. Communicates, tracks and records training requirement for the Directorate. Maintain calendar oversight for the Director to include scheduling appointments, meetings and events. Provides administrative support to Directorate of Human Resources Director and subordinate elements. Gives Guidance on appropriate response to actions or prepares response, using own knowledge of subject matter. Submits hiring action requests for approval. Liaison with Resource Management Officer and Civilian Personnel Advisory Center regarding hiring actions. Utilizes Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) and Automated Nature of Action (AutoNOA) for personnel actions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is subject to a Tier 1 background investigation to determine suitability for Federal employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementFinancial Management AnalysisPersonnel Action Processing and Recordkeeping Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
