About the Position: This position is with the Headquarters Department of Army, Staff and Field Operating Agencies Family Programs located in Arlington, VA.
Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 2 Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond 6 years, up to 8 years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond 8 years. (Please refer to the "Additional Information" section for more information)
Relocation incentive MAY be authorized by IAW agency policy.
Duties
Interpret policies, directives, regulations and orders with higher echelon.
Ensure family programs are in compliance with applicable legislation and statutory laws.
Research a wide range of policies and procedures in order to improve family programs.
Develop technical guidance for implementation.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Temporary business travel up to 25%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in the Federal service which includes: analyzing a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the improvement of family programs; developing projections and/or recommending strategies for meeting family program requirements; and providing guidance on family program policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
