About the Position: Serves as a principal Program Support Specialist for a major command with worldwide assets. Primary overall duty is that of providing accurate and timely synthesis and flow of information between representatives of the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Command Group with senior and subordinate activities.
Duties
Serves as primary point of contact for incoming correspondence for command level action.
Provides assistance and guidance on administrative policies and procedures for the processing and completion of command level actions.
Reviews actions for conformance with guidance.
Makes recommendations concerning existing or needed administrative policy or guidance on a wide variety of administrative subjects.
Operates an automated staff action control system.
Advises the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the General Staff of significant issues and keeps them informed, as appropriate.
Advises and trains personnel in staff action processes and administrative matters.
Serves as an alternate government purchase card holder, training administrator, and facilities, security, safety representative for the Command Group.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance, or access, for duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: Three years progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level, which includes: 1) Provide advice on a wide range of technical and administrative matters requiring timely and often short suspense; 2) Provides assistance and guidance on administrative policies and procedures for the processing and completion of command level actions; 3) Maintain an awareness of assigned suspense's to ascertain the degree of priority that is necessary to facilitate timely action. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-01/GS-04).

Education: Successfully completed a full four (4) year course of study leading to a Bachelor's Degree. (NOTE: You MUST attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Experience and Education: The general experience as described in A, but less than three (3) years; and I have some education as described in B, but less than the required four (4) years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 36. Then, divide your semester hours of education by 120. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.).
