The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and counsel on and around the Airman and Family Rediness Center's (A&FRC) to include topics such as career, transition, relocation, family, and other work/life services and activities provided to military members, retirees, Department of Defense (DoD) civilian members, and their families.
Duties
Assesses individual and family needs and provides continuing work/life services to eligible populations. Interviews and assesses clients' needs and concerns (e.g., family separation, parenting, personal financial management, child care, elder care, etc.); evaluates and interprets information gathered in interviews.
Participates in implementing, maintaining, and providing installation work/life services that meet community needs. Compiles subject matter resources and data in support of new program development for senior A&FR staff members.
Conducts and implements marketing and public relations campaigns to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities. Researches, writes articles, and prepares and delivers presentations on services and activities.
Ensures availability of technology-based resources to maxmnze customer access to a full spectrum of resources to meet life-cycle needs. Develops statements of requirements and identifies potential sources for acquisition of resources.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. A Non-Disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions and Individual Occupational Requirement for Social Science Series 0101.

This is a GG-09 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-09 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Entry / Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-09 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields to assess needs and concerns of clients and help them to understand how certain behavior patterns/attitudes impact and affect their career, transition, relocation, and family situation and learn about their abilities, capacities, interests, and goals concerning their various work/life requirements. Knowledge of personal financial management practices and techniques to provide clients with appropriate financial data and practical financial skills to enable them to make informed personal financial management decisions. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues, provide assistance in developing goals and plans, and determine appropriate referral services/options. EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of social services delivery systems as well as concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields.
2. Knowledge of personal financial management practices and techniques to provide clients with appropriate financial data and practical financial skills to enable them to make informed personal financial management decisions.
3. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interactions with individuals/families and with program representatives and officials.
4. Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues, provide assistance m developing goals and plans, and determine appropriate referral services/options.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
