The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the 70 Integrated Prevention Chief, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to support Violence Prevention at the 70th Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing (70 ISRW). The Integrated Prevention Chief leads the development, implementation and evaluation of all prevention and resilience efforts.

Duties

DUTY 1: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of integrated prevention, ensuring that 70 ISRW prevention efforts comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. DUTY 2: Represents CVI with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. DUTY 3: Manage all aspects of a complex integrated prevention program for the 70 ISRW. DUTY 4: Accomplishes professional development and maintains technical proficiency through professional interaction with technical and professional societies, associations, academia, symposia, contractors, research and development (R&D) organizations, and participation in formal training programs. DUTY 5: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

  • Short and extensive temporary duty (TDY) trips worldwide using all modes of commercial and military transportation may be required.
  • Must obtain, maintain, and renew credentialing as required by the DoD Board of Prevention Credentialing specified in DoD and DAF policy.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include professional knowledge of social and behavioral sciences and/or public health practices, principles, and theories to develop and implement comprehensive violence-related primary prevention programs that prevent or lessen the impact of a wide range of psychosocial and environmental problems such as alcohol consumption and lack of social support; provide training for other installation personnel on issues related to the prevention of violence; coordinate programs; and enlist the aid of base wide community organizations and off installation community organizations with the help of the family advocacy outreach manager. Knowledge of complex delivery systems, professions, and organizations; how they affect individuals and communities as well as individual, child, family, and community welfare; and the multiple uses of such systems, professions, and organizations to deliver prevention activities. Knowledge and experience in the organization, management, and administration of violence-related primary prevention services to participate in program planning, and in the development and maintenance of public understanding and sound working relationships with local and community agencies. Knowledge of a wide array of violence-related problems and the varied resources needed to prevent them. Skill in applying professional community organization skills related to the formulation of needs assessments, development of primary prevention programs, and the facilitation/implementation of such programs. Ability to directly apply prevention best practices, public health, and prevention science to individuals, families, and communities. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to prevention and resilience. Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems. In-depth knowledge of DAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face; or equivalent knowledge. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources; mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to identify individual and community risk and protective factors in order to determine prevention and resilience activities to meet the needs of the base populace. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT. Security: Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
