You will serve as a TECHNICIAN for the USMC METCAL Program of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $156,323).

Duties

You will serve as a PM-TMDE Quality Program Manager. You will be a subject matter expert in all metrology areas relating to assigned Calibration Work Facility Work Stations. You will train USMC QARs in internal/external auditing and surveillance audit principles. You will provide support to the Calibration Facilities as required. You will develop and maintain POAMs for assigned projects. You will ensure that established milestones are met and proactively reports planned resolutions for critical and non-critical audit findings. You will prepare monthly status reports for the Portfolio Manager (0-6 equivalent) including audit reports. You will ensure all reports accurately reflect the status of assigned audits/projects and provide COA (Course Of Action) options for critical finding resolutions. You will participate and take the lead in developing the QA portion of technical conferences, IPRs, contract reviews, and other technical meetings. You will maintain an effective working relationship with MARCORSYSCOM PM-TMDE and the Fleet Marine Force, through balancing technical adequacy with current capability. You will perform as the Lead Auditor for Marine Corps metrology laboratories. You will provide guidance and direction to new engineers and technicians in all USMC Quality areas. You will coordinate effectively with technical experts as well as continually strive to improve all business processes associated with supporting PM-TMDE.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a subject matter expert in metrology to ensure audit compliance, prepare status reports, lead quality initiatives, and guide new engineers for the enhancement or effectiveness of metrology operations.
