You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the Precision Machining and Tooling Branch (PMT) (MS24) in the Interface Engineering and Assessment Division of the Measurement Science and Engineering Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV, Corona, California.

Duties

You will serve as the PMT Branch Head, executing the branch’s day to day operations and ensuring delivery of quality products on time and within budget, You will provide machining and manufacturing engineering and support of Navy Weapons and support systems through rapid prototyping, inspection gages, mechanical systems, assembles, and support equipment, You will ensure development, implementation and management of the PMT (Machine Shop) work needed to support the branch customer requirements, products, and services, as well as work flow and schedule, You will be responsible for meeting expected sales and revenue goals including solvency of the Branch, incremental and frequent billing, and oversight and technical direction of engineers, technicians and other professionals, You will work closely with other MS 20 branches, including engineering, gage certification, and standards calibration, You will ensure quality system implementation leading to ISO 9001 compliance and certification with the goal of AS9100 compliance in the future, You will develop proposals for the improvement of the Machine Shop's processes and products to benefit Navy, and facilitate the development of innovative approaches to hardware issues, modifications and revisions of varying complexity, You will execute cost effective manufacturing solutions to meet customer or system requirements, while spearheading business development with potential sponsors and customers to bring in new work, You will administer the branch budget, manage customer relationships and programs, and apply Human Capital Management policies and regulations to lead and mange branch personnel, You will actively support Command strategic initiatives and think corporately in establish objectives, setting priorities, and teambuilding within the branch.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector,providing technical guidance for the development of weapons systems and equipment through machining and manufacturing projects and programs.
