About the Position: Technical and administrative supervisor over Army ground and support equipment maintenance personnel within an assigned area of responsibility, exercising full supervisory responsibility over work production and operations.
Duties
Supervise and support equipment maintenance personnel.
Provide general instructions, standard procedures, overall priorities and policies to subordinates.
Review subordinate work for efficiency and economical accomplishment within priorities and control received.
Ensure all employees are properly licensed, trained and road tested.
Promote and participate in continuous process improvement programs to increase efficiency, improve safety and save money.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid civilian and military driver’s licenses.
- Applicant must undergo a pre-employment and annual medical exam to meet physical efforts requirements of lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. and occasional heaving lifting of objects up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Temporary duty travel may be required up to 10% of the duty time.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Establish deadlines, priorities, work sequences and work assignments based on schedules, methods and policies set by supervisors; perform inspections on maintenance/repair work on Army ground equipment to maintain serviceability conditions as dictated by federal and state laws and regulations; perform and review classification inspections and estimated cost of damage inspections for correctness to ensure equipment costs are properly identified; review rejected equipment inspections to identify trends and make recommendations to leadership on corrective actions; and utilize automated supply/maintenance management systems to maintain maintenance productions reports, such as GCSS-A . - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Required to work in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods. Frequent bending, reaching, stretching, climbing, and crouching is required. Sometimes works on top of and under vehicles in cramped or awkward positions. Performs strenuous work while standing, lying or sitting. Frequently carries items weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Required to push, pull, turn and position parts, equipment assemblies, and tools. Lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers and with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists, and cranes.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside, frequently in cramped and awkward positions. Shop area is frequently inadequately heated. Works in dirty, greasy, and noisy atmosphere and possibility exists for injury from dropped units and parts, slipping tools, slipping from work positions. Inside work is usually performed on concrete floors and involves frequent exposure to exhaust fumes.
