About the Position: This position is located at the TACOM Field Support Operations, Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Assign work and provide technical direction.
Assure repairs resulting from other than fair, wear and tear are reported for appropriate action and repairs are not accomplished until liability is determined.
Review all rejected equipment inspections, work with leadership to identify trends and recommend courses of action to correct short falls
Provide quality and timely work performance evaluation based on established and published requirements
Inspect completed work for quality and work order requirements.
Recommend solutions to staffing problems and/or work operations directed by other supervisors.
Investigate grievances and complaints.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires a security background investigation.
- This position may require a 1 year supervisory probationary period.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state and military Driver's License.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 20 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to supervise. The work of the position normally includes: 1) establishing deadlines, priorities, and/or work sequences are met 2) planning heavy mobile repair work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by superiors; and 3) utilizing automated maintenance systems such as; Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A); and 4) Ability in controlling work operations and/or accomplishing quality assurance/quality control inspections in accordance with applicable standards, standard operating procedures and policies. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: The inspector frequently works while the equipment and the parts worked on are in hard-to-reach places. This requires him to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. He frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally, he may lift, push or pull items that weigh up to 75 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Approximately half of the work is performed in an office setting where there is adequate lighting, ventilation, and heating. The remainder of the work may be performed in any of the maintenance shops, equipment storage lots, or occupied office areas in order to conduct on-site inspections. The incumbent may be exposed to electrical hazards, hazardous chemicals, moving machinery, inclement weather, internal combustion engine exhaust fumes and other hazards to personal safety. An aggressive safety awareness program is followed and appropriate safety equipment is furnished.
