Duties
You will Conduct evaluations of safety programs to address program deficiencies across geographically disbursed offices.
You will Evaluate work performance to identify personnel training needs and career development.
You will Manage programs to protect personnel and property from natural or manmade mishaps or disasters that would adversely affect the business unit and organizational goals.
You will Analyze mishaps and hazardous conditions to determine origin, root causes, and contributing elements to prepare written reports.
You will Identify developmental and training needs of employees to maintain staff knowledge of procedures and regulations.
You will Investigate mishaps to minimize or eliminate hazardous working conditions.
You will develop plans for safety and occupational health activities.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conveying written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner for the intended audience, using correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; 2) Expressing thoughts persuasively and uses effective modes to reinforce message retention; 3) Demonstrating the ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences; 4) Making clear and convincing oral presentations; 5) Listening effectively and clarifying information as needed; 6) Knowing how to plan, coordinate, and execute business functions, resource allocation, and production; 7) Having knowledge of guidelines, regulations, and procedures associated with accident investigation, including preservation of the accident scene, root cause analysis, and evidence detection and handling; 8) Knowing the guidelines, regulations, and procedures associated with compliance inquiries, including application of compliance rules and criteria; ability to make determinations that work conditions are in or out of compliance with regulations; 9) Identifying and analyzing problems; weighing the relevance and accuracy of information; seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions; makes timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions; and 10) Evaluating to identify the causes of problems, and chooses the course of action that balances the interests of the mission and stakeholders.
