You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST within FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will monitor and ensure compliance of subordinate staff certification and license requirements, as a condition of employment. You will work with senior management to ensure preventive and corrective actions that result from audits are addressed in a timely manner. You will provides training to all levels of management, to ensure all participants have the necessary knowledge to adequately perform their duties and responsibilities in conformance with the current OHSAS-18001/ISO-45001 SMS standards.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing plans and approaches to ensure effective control of personnel safety and health and safety management systems such as OSHA VPP, ISO 18001 or ISO 45001. Preparing written reports and making oral presentations. Gathering data and analysis techniques to collect and review technical information on safety policies/procedures and health activities. Managing databases such as Enterprise Safety Applications Management System (ESAMS) and Risk Management Information (RMI). Experience and skill in supervision and leadership of employees.
