You will serve as a SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Compliance & Quality Department of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will identify potential accident causing situations and ensure corrective actions are viable and effective. You will assist in analyzing findings and making recommendations to management to reduce and control hazards. You will perform job hazard analysis and risk assessments of hazardous processes and devise procedures to minimize potential injuries or property damage. You will assist in planning and conducting safety and occupational health inspections and evaluations of industrial and administrative areas to identify and evaluate risk potential.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties:1). Demonstrated ability to work with others and collaborate such that can serve in a customer service role. 2). Experience with computers to develop reports, research, and create presentation material. Advise supervisors and safety representatives of appropriate safety and occupational health measures to control or eliminate hazardous operating processes or environmental conditions. 3). Knowledge of compliance inspections and inspection guidance. 4). Investigate accidents or mishaps to determine root cause(s) and corrective action(s); obtain statements from witnesses and photographing mishap scene; records circumstances of mishap and extent of injuries, estimates cost of property damage, and prepares a final report of findings with recommendations to correct the unsafe acts or conditions that caused the personnel injury or property damage. 5). Knowledge of safety instructions and guides that are relevant to current or planned contractor and base employees to identify hazards.
