You will serve as a REGION SAFETY DIRECTOR in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of COMNAVREG SE JAX.
Duties
You will plan, direct, organize, and control a field occupational safety and health program by developing policies and procedures based on the needs of
the activity.
You will evaluate program performance measures and inspection data to develop Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) policy or process changes.
You will advise management officials on the status of safety and occupational health programs to aid in operational decision making.
You will assess operational capabilities (e.g., manpower, facilities, location of facilities, frequency of inspections) to anticipate, mitigate, or resolve
programmatic shortcomings.
You will implement solutions using negotiation, conflict resolution, or leadership skills to obtain results that support organizational or mission
requirements.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing safety and occupational health management principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and precedent decisions applicable to high-risk training and operations, including industrial work processes, warehousing and materials handling, and techniques of fire and accident prevention to: 1) Conduct a programmatic risk assessment and develop corresponding courses of action to best mitigate identified risk with allocated fiscal and personnel resources; 2) Identify, evaluate, monitor, and control trends adverse to the safekeeping of personnel, equipment, and property; 3) Develop and maintain a prioritized list of validated program requirements; 4) Develop and execute a human capital strategy that supports the professional development of assigned safety professionals; and 5) Provide oversight to subordinate activities' safety programs (quality assurance, technical and training assist visits).
