You will serve as a Safety & Occupational Health Specialist in the FRCSE, Compliance & Quality Dept, Safety & Occupational Health Division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Duties

You will detect hazardous operations and conditions throughout an industrial environment using regulations, standards, and sound safety practices. You will operate desktop computer to maintain data bases and produce reports and correspondence. You will identify occupational hazards and conduct investigations relating to mishaps/injuries which causative factors appear to be lacking correct and proper ergonomic equipment/procedures. You will conduct safety training on a wide variety of Safety Program functions.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Inspecting processes and facilities for the purpose of identifying safety concerns; Researching regulations pertinent and specific to day-to-day safety and fire issues; Analyzing findings and making recommendations to management to reduce and control hazards; Identifying occupational hazards and conducting investigations relating to mishaps/injuries which causative factors appear to be lacking correct and proper ergonomic equipment/procedures; Applying data gathering methods, their processes and procedures and the ability to prepare clear and concise reports; Interpreting and applying basic standards, criteria, and operating instructions to specific unsafe acts and conditions; Developing and preparing tables, charts and graphs for presentation or publication using database, spreadsheet, word processing, PowerPoint and graphics programs; Conducting safety training on a wide variety of Safety Program functions; Interfacing with internal and external customers.
