This position is part of the Office of the Secretary of Interior, Office of Natural Resources Revenue, Revenue, Reporting, & Compliance Management, Financial Management, Accounting Services - General Ledger Team.

Duties
Identifies deposit reporting errors and prepares administrative correspondence for Liquidated Damages, Payment Processing Errors, and Notice of Potential Enforcement letters.
Serves as a customer service representative for electronic payment information and payor inquiries.
Operates equipment for the effective and efficient processing of payments and source documents including bar coding equipment, imaging equipment, optical character recognition (NCR) machine, check encoding machine, workstation, and adding machine.
Assists external and internal parties in researching lease and payment information on the financial system, provides assistance in retrieving documents, provides information on processed items, and provides special processing of reports and payments.
Follows internal control procedures to assure proper handling of source documents, worksheets, and batches by assigning unique control numbers to all source documents.
Qualifications
At the GS-7 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: using automated systems to enter data, uploading data or reports into systems, running routine reports, responding to simple external requests.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
