About the Position: Serves as the Human Resources Specialist (Military) to the Chief, Military Personnel Branch, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 (ODCS, G-3/5/7) to include Field Operating Agencies (FOA) and Direct Reporting Unit (DRU) to the G-3/5/7.
Duties
Conduct entrance and exit interviews with Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMA’s) to identify appropriate utilization.
Interpret budgeting guidance and evaluate all training requirements to ensure funds are available for qualified IMAs to receive annual training.
Develop and publish the Office Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 annual training guidance for the IMA.
Counsel personnel management officers regarding training tour, officer assignments, promotions, career progressions and military school requirements for ODCS, G-3/5/7 IMAs.
Responsible for processing requests for government and nongovernment training.
Provide the full scope of military personnel support services to the approximately 500 officers and enlisted Soldiers assigned.
Work under the general supervision of the Alcohol and Drug Control Officer.
Perform duties as the Primary Unit Prevention Leader (UPL).
Provide guidance on current and proposed policies for assigned military personnel action program(s) to a wide variety of individuals, managers, and key officials.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/ and or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) conducting research to provide military human resource advisory services; 2) reviewing military personnel actions, such as retirements, to ensure compliance with regulatory guidance; and 3.) conducting in-processing and out-processing for military personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
