Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Enterprise Services (ES), Office of Human Resources Management (HRM), Processing Branch (PSC) located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Duties

In this Lead Human Resources Specialist position in the Processing Branch you will serve as the Processing Lead which entails a variety of coordinating, coaching, facilitating and planning techniques to assist the branch supervisor with managing a team of Human Resources Specialists and Assistants in the Processing Branch. This position starts at a salary of $87,758.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $114,082.00 (GS-12, Step 10). Typical work assignments include: Preparing reports and maintaining records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinating the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor; Overseeing the processing of employee benefits, performance management, and compensation while providing a full range of advisory and operational services in order to enhance CBP mission; Coaching a team of Human Resources Specialists and Assistants with following proper processes while making recommendations to management on resolving complex interrelated human resources problems and issues; Preparing reports and maintaining records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinating the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor; Monitoring and reporting the status of work which consist of checking the progress and reviewing completed work to see that the team meets the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, and deadlines. Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Overseeing comprehensive human resources management advisory and technical services on substantive organizational functions and work practices; Communicating to the team of Human Resources Specialists and Assistants regarding their assignments, projects, and problem resolutions on issues under review, deadlines, and timeframes for completion; Coaching the team and recommending to management on resolving complex interrelated human resources problems and issues, while advising the supervisor on training needs for the team and; Training team members on the techniques of team building and working in a team to accomplish tasks and/or projects NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/11/2024.
