You will serve as a Prevention and Education Specialist of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will serve as the primary coordinator for conducting training requirements for the Family Advocacy Program services.
You will plan and develops briefs, seminars/workshops on various topics such as Family Advocacy, Child/Spouse Abuse Prevention, substance abuse, effecting parenting and other topics needed by military members, dependents and commands.
You will coordinate and execute special project activities (e.g., Annual Domestic Violence Prevention Month, Child Abuse Awareness Campaign)
You will coordinate the development and collection of articles for the monthly program newsletter. Prepares monthly calendar of planned events, flyers, posters, news releases and other advertising as needed to promote programs.
You will conduct program evaluation and provide data for research to determine program effectiveness in conjunction with the Family Advocacy Program Manager.
You will develop an appropriate plan of assistance to support the Marine Corps families within the community.
Requirements

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing education and awareness training for prevention programs related to child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Planning or assisting with the development of briefs, seminars, or workshops. 2) Conducting training requirements for a family advocacy or similar program. 3) Facilitate workshops, seminars or non-clinical training/educational groups.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual. Applicants must possess:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
You may also qualify for this position with education or a combination of education and experience listed below:
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
master's or equivalent graduate degree.
Education must be in a related field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
