About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Information Technology Directorate, Charlottesville, VA 22911..
Duties
Serves as the Operations Officer supporting Army and national-level programs within the Information Technology Directorate, National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC).
Carries out the primary duty of senior advisor and consultant to the Director, Information Technology Directorate.
Represents the Directorate at NGIC, Army and Department of Defense (DoD) meetings and conferences as required.
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, collaborating, controlling, evaluating, reporting.
Independently plans, coordinates, and synthesizes information from divisions, branches, and teams to produce comprehensive Directorate responses to those tasks, data calls and reports for the Directorate and NGIC.
Coordinates actions across all NGIC Directorates.
Consolidates and edits Directorate inputs using knowledge of NGIC mission, assets and capabilities.
Assesses overall resource capabilities to address existing and projected requirements and tasking.
Manages directorate training, travel, and awards programs.
Supports Information Technology Human Capital initiatives.
Defines and negotiates plans, programs, policies, and various operational issues that are critical to mission accomplishment of the Information Technology Directorate.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
