About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Charlottesville, VA. Serves as the Management Support Specialist, responsible for a wide variety of management, personnel, and adminstrative support services.

Duties

Provide advisory services to employees concerning the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Serve as liaison between the servicing MACOM G1, Civilian Human Resources Service Center, and Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) in processing and tracking civilian personnel actions. Review and initiate requests for civilian personnel actions utilizing automated HR systems. Perform administrative functions for civilian personnel matters such as reviewing job descriptions, initiating recruitment actions, and preparing organizational promotions, realignments, and reassignments. Advise management on recruitment strategies, sources, and special programs. Assist in developing short- and long-range staffing plans to forecast civilian personnel mission requirements. Advise personnel on career planning, training, and civilian performance management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to worldwide locations may constitute up to 10%.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
