Duties
The Leadership Development Director is responsible for developing and recommending CLD strategies for the solution area, ensuring interaction and integration of their solution area with other CLD solution areas, and ensuring that the solution area fully supports OPM's overall mission and Strategic Plan.
Leadership Development Director duties are as follows:
Develops and recommends strategies for the solution area; and ensures interaction and integration of their solution area with other CLD solution areas within CLD, and ensures that the solution area fully supports OPM's overall mission and Strategic Plan.
Manages the staff of a cost-reimbursable division or internal organization supporting the education and development of Federal executives, managers, and policy leaders and their organizations.
Represents OPM and the CLD division in public forums as a speaker or resource person on leadership, management, executive, and public policy education in the Government and related topics and in meetings with top-level government officials.
Serves as a member of the CLD Leadership Team responsible for the effective operations of CLD solution areas.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
For the GS 15: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing ALL of the following duties:
Providing expertise in the academic development of leadership development programs; AND
Overseeing the design and implementation of long-range programs in the areas of leadership and global issues; AND
Fostering relationships with outside organizations, including respected colleges, universities and non-profit organizations to solicit input and support for leadership development programs; AND
Providing performance and development coaching and mentoring to assigned staff.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
