About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Mission Operations Directorate, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

Serves as the Operations Officer supporting Army and national-level programs within the Mission Operations Directorate, National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC). Carries out the primary duty of senior advisor and consultant to the Director, Mission Operations Directorate. Represents the Directorate at NGIC, Army and Department of Defense (DoD) meetings and conferences as required. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, collaborating, controlling, evaluating, reporting. Independently plans, coordinates, and synthesizes information from divisions, branches, and teams to produce comprehensive Directorate responses to those tasks, data calls and reports for the Directorate and NGIC. Coordinates actions across all NGIC Directorates. Consolidates and edits Directorate inputs using knowledge of NGIC mission, assets and capabilities. Assesses overall resource capabilities to address existing and projected requirements and tasking. Performs operational and special project management activities in the areas of graphical and visual information services, and intelligence production publishing and dissemination. Defines and negotiates plans, programs, policies, and various operational issues that are critical to mission accomplishment of the Mission Operations Directorate.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may occasionally be required.
