You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the of CNSSC OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FIELD.

Duties

You will have knowledge of cybersecurity policies and procedures and understand the technical aspects of the computer security discipline. You will provide baseline technical expertise to customer activities in the areas of environmental/application software countermeasures and safeguards, software certification and developing/obtaining/ preparing security training plans. You will take action to minimize internal and external security risk levels. You will support the development and implementation of an Enterprise-wide CS program to ensure all systems and networks under their purview are approved, operated and maintained throughout its life cycle. You will provide assistance to supervisors and personnel requiring CS Work Force (CSWF) certification or certification maintenance training.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires occasional travel.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying comprehensive knowledge of information systems security principles and methods, commercial information systems security products, technical documentation methods, and performance management methods leading to security certification/accreditation. Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Conducts integrated analysis of multiple audit logs, e.g. firewall, web server, intrusion detection; to identify violations and recommend corrective actions; 2) Provides guidance and assistance in implementing anti-virus software and updating signature files; 3) Participates in identifying and writing specifications to meet security requirements at the applications level; and 4) Provides assistance to supervisors and personnel requiring CS Work Force (CSWF) certification or certification maintenance training.
