Duties
Serves as an Executive Assistant to the director of Accounting Operations providing advanced level financial management advice and assistance.
Performs directorate wide analysis and reviews directorate work methods and operations to assist with improvements, interpret regulatory financial controls, and ensure compliance.
Formally briefs management at entrance conferences to explain objectives, procedures, scope, and to obtain management's input.
Provides technical advice and assistance to management and program officials in areas of broad scope and mission impact where potentially controversial recommendations are made to resolve highly complex problems.
Analyzes the effectiveness and impact of recommendations to correct problems of significant complexity and reviews management actions to determine that previously identified deficiencies are corrected.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: performing extensive data analysis and evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the continuity of a financial organization's business operations; compiling financial data from various sources and ensuring its accuracy as it pertains to financial legislation and operational policies and procedures; providing substantial financial management knowledge to leadership to assist with the organization's core mission.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
