About the Position: Serves as a budget analyst in the Resources Management Support Team, Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Directorate-Training (ID-T). Provides financial advisory services for a major segment of the ID-T budget or for a total budget for one or more funds (i.e. O&M, DBOF, revolving, investment, FMS, etc.).

Duties

As a Budget Analyst, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Performs various budget functions involving the formulation, justification, and/or execution of budgets for organizations, programs, or projects. Consolidates budget estimates into a budget document that reflects the balanced, multi-year funding needs of the region or organization, for a total of one or more funds. Performs a variety of duties in the planning, analysis, formulation, justification, presentation,execution and review of the multi-year budget for the ID-T elements. Analyzes and evaluates fund requirements for the development, procurement and modification of ID-T programs and systems. Formulates, monitors, and ensures requirements are included in the appropriate budgetary documents. Evaluates programs and funds received from higher headquarters to determine the need for adjustments to requirements or submission of a request for additional resources to HQ IMCOM. Monitors execution of current year budget and subordinate activities quarterly reporting requirements.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly
  • Business travel required 15% of the time.
  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position.
  • Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position.
  • Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

Qualifications

The Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Directorate - Training (ID-T) is responsible for the Mission Command and leadership of 17 US Army Garrison commands and Support Activities that deliver and integrate Base Support services on Army installations to enable Army readiness. ID-T is aligned with the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Army War College and is physically located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, thereby, better enabling close collaboration with HQ TRADOC. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
