About the Position: This is a Chief position in the TRADOC Headquarters G-8 Budget Directorate supporting the management and control of current and multiyear appropriations or a Chief position supporting the oversight and analysis at the Centers of Excellence level. Both positions; purpose of the work is to analyze, advise on, and recommend solutions to budgetary problems in all phases of budget administration.

Duties

Develops recommendations for Program Budget Decisions (PBDs), financial policies, and appropriations language to support national defense missions. Analyzes and interprets agency/Department of Defense (DoD)/ Office of Management and Budget (OMB) budget and program guidance. Analyzes the budgetary impact of new or revised legislation, policies, and procedures. Develops budget/program processes, procedures and guidance for executing financial management plans and programs. Uses GFEBS, GFEBS-SA, GCSS-A, and RMW, and Resource Management Online (RMO) systems to provides budget officials with information. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set priorities and establishes schedules for work completion. Assigns work based on priorities, requirements of assignment, and capabilities of employees.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain Financial Level 3 Certification.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) for business for up to 10% of the time.
  • This position requires one-year probationary period for supervisors.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
