You will serve as a FIRES AND EFFECTS PLANNER in the Joint Fires Center, Director Maritime Operations of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY.

Duties

You will plan, coordinate, integrate and synchronize lethal and nonlethal joint effects with both maritime and other service components staffs. You will work with higher and subordinate headquarters staffs. You will resolve conflicts, adjust control measures, or relay component/maneuver unit’s adjustments to adjacent, supported, or supporting units. You will participate in and provide fires and effects inputs to planning conferences, summits, and seminars as required. You will develop long-range plans identifying critical support areas, resources and their availability, time requirements and priorities. You will provide advice, guidance and counsel to the staff in the performance of projects based on a broad understanding and mastery of joint and maritime fires, strategic policies, operations, plans and capabilities.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: advising on fires and effects plans (lethal and non-lethal) and maritime strike related to the operational employment of military forces in a multi threat environment.
