You will serve as a INSTALLATION TRAINING OFFICER in the OPERATIONS TRAINING & EXERCISES DIVISION of NAVAL STATION.

Duties

You will analyze the impact on mission performance from training and education program issues. You will identify organizational training needs to meet operational goals or objectives. You will brief others on recommended Exercise Design (ExDesign) to meet immersive setting and training objectives. You will develop and maintain a training systems master plan in coordination and collaboration with platform and commodity program office roadmaps. You will develop and execute strategic plans for maximizing reserve force utilization and readiness in support of exercises and training plans. You will oversee and monitor actions of immersive training resources during the execution of training events and exercises.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional overtime, weekend, and late night work periods may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing realistic training events that are based on validated training requirements; 2) Assisting in developing the strategy and plan to provide continuous evaluation of installation training and processes; 3) Coordinating installation level Shore Response Training and Exercise requirements based on installation mission and long range training goals. Manual dexterity is required in operation of a computer, calculator and other office machines. Some walking and climbing associated including some assignments that may require the physical ability to drive to site. There is a moderate stress environment with some occasional irregular work hours. Incumbent may be required to perform some work onboard ships and other locations for coordination, observation, or evaluation purposes when planning and conducting regional training exercises. Occasional overtime, weekend and late night work periods may be required to ensure timely and professional accomplishment of Region's staff mission. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most functions are performed in an office setting, adequately lighted, heated, ventilated, etc. The majority of work is performed in reasonable well-appointed office spaces. There may be local travel and occasional travel to other Navy installations within the United States for exercise planning purposes. Incumbent may be required to attend schools and conferences to attain/maintain expertise and provide command positions as a JBPHH representative. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
