Duties

Design and develop components of existing equipment and parts as required on weapon systems and other items. Evaluate and implement new Computer Aided Design (CAD) /Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software, technologies and techniques as appropriate and performs independent analysis of designs. Perform Logistics Modernization Project (LMP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) functions relating to Engineering Manufacturing and Overhaul operations. Monitor work issued to team members to assure completion of a project defined by the supervisor and/or lead engineer.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • 50% business travel.
  • One year trial period.
  • Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. or Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing standard operating procedures for technical work on electronics systems; 2) Providing guidance to other technicians on testing, trouble-shooting, and diagnostic techniques; AND 3) Recommending design changes to equipment and/or parts ensuring specifications are met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
