TOBYHANNA ARMY DEPOT PRODUCTION ENGINEERING SATCOM AND SITE INSTALLATION DIV SATCOM SYSTEMS ENGINEERING BR TOBYHANNA, PA.
Duties
Serves as the project lead and is the technical authority on one or more complex SATCOM/communication systems.
Provides technical guidance to the customer and TYAD management officials for new systems, which TYAD is responsible for the design, development, fabrication, testing, and troubleshooting.
Reviews all PM requirements for technical guidance to ensure the PMs system requirements will be met.
Performs engineering analysis to verify design concepts, system integrity, and safety.
Makes sound administrative and technical decisions requiring an extensive background in various electronics fields.
Project lead will travel to command and PM sites representing TYAD to describe TYADs capability to perform various design, analysis, and manufacturing tasks.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 50% of the time.
- Continual and repetitive use of large motor skills to stand, walk, sit, bend, climb, stoop, crawl, crouch, shovel, push, pull, twist, turn, stretch, reach, and continual and repetitive use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
- This position requires working around equipment that generates noise, vibration, and heat. This position requires working outdoors involving moderate exposure to rain and cold/hot weather.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position (Foundational) . Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and and Technical Management certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
