This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the senior budget analyst for DoD appropriated programs.
Duties
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated June 23, 2023
As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Managing resource allocations by prioritizing funding requirements
Examination and oversight of financial management procedures and processes
Detailed experience executing Security Cooperation programs via the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI) platform
Exercising analytical and decision support skills for select DoD appropriated resources to support the Security Cooperation mission.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS 14 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Performing and managing complex programs related to financial management, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting of government program funds
Conducting extensive analysis of budgetary guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations to develop recommendations for unplanned/unfunded requirements and funding adjustments.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
