The selectee of this position serves as a Supervisory Budget Analyst responsible for managing the Office of Financial Management. This position is located in the Judicial Security Division/Arlington, VA.

Duties

As a Supervisory Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-15 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing oversight of the following functions: budget formulation, budget invoicing and closeout, and budget execution and reporting. Evaluating alternative proposals or corrective remedies for current and planned programs, impacts on other related programs, and total resource requirements to include manpower, money, and materials. Overseeing the analyzing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating of all phases of the budget formulation process including budgets for annual, multi-year, and no-year programs and supplemental funding. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This is a Testing Designated Positions (TDP) and is subject to random drug testing.
  • May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probationary period.
  • Must be a Current DOJ employee and meet time-in-grade requirements for consideration. (52 weeks at the next lower grade level)

Qualifications

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. One year at the GS-14 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Managing budget formulation, budget invoicing and closeout, and budget execution and reporting within a program area; Collecting budget materials and data to brief senior management officials; Managing financial agreements with outside organizations and/or government agencies; and Planning, assigning, and reviewing work of staff members.
