This position is part of the DARPA Comptroller's Office . The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the nucleus for implementing the research work of the Agency by securing resources through the budget formulation process, issuing funds to contracting agents and performers (approximately 5000 actions yearly) and monitoring accounting and reporting operations performed by others on DARPA's behalf.
Duties
As a BUDGET ANALYST at the GS-0560-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Manage and Maintain DARPA financial management, accounting and budgetary systems.
Formulation and Implementation of budget planning and execution procedures to assure compliance with all governing laws and regulations.
Responsible for Agency funds control certification process.
Develops effective procedures for the implementation and validation of the DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting Services) prepared budget execution reporting.
Monitors the DARPA work performed by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS 14 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the federal service (experience may have been gained in the military or private sector):
Experience establishing advanced level knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously with clear examples utilizing project management practices and tools
Experience evaluating financial data
Knowledge of DoD Finance (Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution)
Familiarity with DAI (Defense Agencies Initiative) and other budgetary and financial reporting systems.
