About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at historic Fort Eustis, Virginia, known for its association with Army Transportation, Army Aviation, and is the home to the Army's Training and Doctrine Command.

Duties

Serves as senior Intelligence and Threat Specialist and supervisor over assigned personnel. Subject matter expert in the research, development and application of Intelligence Community validated threat projections and operational environment data. Supports the development of the TRADOC doctrinal, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities, and policy initiatives. Serves as a Senior Analyst, Directorate, and TRADOC subject matter expert for specifically assigned functional and/or geographic areas. First-line supervisor, assigns, reviews and evaluates work of subordinates and monitors accomplishments. Performs the research, development, and review of Threat and Operational Environment (OE) information and data for use by TRADOC and Centers of Excellence in the execution of the TRADOC Strategic Plan.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

AND Experience producing threat documents such as: scenarios, studies, research and position papers. AND Experience briefing on threat projections and operational environment (OE) data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Forecasting and Demand PlanningIntelligence and Threat Support (I&TS)Intelligence Strategic PlanningLeadership NOTE: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
