About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at historic Fort Eustis, Virginia, known for its association with Army Transportation, Army Aviation, and is the home to the Army's Training and Doctrine Command.

Duties

Serves as a Senior Intelligence Specialist working in the Analysis and Control Element (ACE), Assistant Chief of Staff (ACofS), G2, HQ, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Represents TRADOC at senior level meetings and threat support working groups. Serves as a TRADOC G2 subject matter expert for threat capabilities and Operational Environment (OE). Assists in the TRADOC G2 and the Operational Environment Enterprise effort to develop the Operational Environment (OE) for all DA and TRADOC-directed Army Current OE activities. Provide support to TRADOC Joint and Army Futures war-games, concept development and experimentation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Tier 5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be less than 20% of the work schedule.

Experience analyzing operational environment (OE) data and threat capabilities. AND 2. Experience managing (OE) processes such as: war-gaming, modeling and simulation, field exercises, experiments. AND 3. Experience preparing written assessments and presenting briefs in support of OE and threat analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
