Duties
As a Human Resources Assistant at the GS-0203-7 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Process requests for position/personnel action.
Track, update, produce reports for personnel actions in various databases.
Draft position descriptions and coordinates with appropriate Human Resources Classification Specialist to assure accurate and up to date information.
Write recurring and new vacancy announcements for clerical and technical positions for predetermined areas of consideration
Maintain internal share point site and shared drives.
Review personnel action requests to determine the nature of action and source of candidates

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-07 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service:
Knowledge of Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) sufficient to enter or access personnel data and to write queries to retrieve position data needed for reporting and information requirements
Using specialized online HR tools and systems such as those related to the processing of HR/personnel actions
Providing technical assistance to employees and supervisors on a variety of personnel practices and processes involving staffing and classification;
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
