Duties
You will serve as a TRAINING SPECIALIST in the TRAINING DIVISION (CODE C1140) of the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of the MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER (MARMC) in NORFOLK, VA.
You will develop training materials through the analysis of educational or instructional problems or questions, establish design criteria and develop new approaches, methods, or techniques.
You will initiate and plan development of training materials for course or cluster of courses in assigned subject field, well in advance of actual use.
You will study technical material and make field visits to determine the scope and content of course.
You will design, develop, and facilitate training.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience applying a basic knowledge of the MARMC command structure, as well as the administrative and technical responsibilities and operational processes of the various departments and divisions within the command.
Experience providing a practical skill in fact finding and development of source information, and the ability to solve problems in selecting, interpreting, and adapting materials for course development.
Experience arranging and moderating seminars and conferences to provide guidance for students, give lectures, participate in panel type discussions, and participate in planning and developing or evaluating and revising curriculum.
Experience applying a basic knowledge and skill to access and execute online sites for the purpose of delivering and documenting training.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled.

Specialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
- Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s).
- Supervising or administering a training program.
- Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results.
- Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
